When I found out last year that Baba Segi & his many wives would be on stage this year, I knew that there was no other choice than to make sure I found myself at the Arcola theatre this Spring.

Baba Segi is a polygamist. He has 3 wives & many children. When he decides to take up a 4th wife, 25yo Bolanle, a university & worldly educated woman no less, she threatens to shatter the dark secret of Baba Segi's existing family.

This was an amazing book to stage adaptation that deserves all of the praise. It's often a worry when books you've enjoyed are adapted, with worries as to how the plot will be interpreted & re-fashioned. However, the team kept this story very true to plot, with very minimal changes.

The stage was small, but it allowed the public to fully hone in on the characters & the story. Allowing for an intimate & interactive performance.

The casting of the characters was top tier & absolutely bodied their roles 🎊🙏🏾

This is a play that will have you belly laughing from start to finish. I highly recommend you all to add this to your to-watch list for May!

Please check TW's via the Arcola Theatre website.

Thank you to @arcolatheatre for the invite 🙏🏾
